'Not Fade Away' Greek picture sleeve | September 2011
Recently sold on a famous auction site was a copy of the only Greek picture sleeve by the band printed for their second single 'Not Fade Away' [Decca GD 5053]. With flipbacks, and a text in Greek language on rear, this cover used the same artwork than the two first Spanish EPs, featuring an early shot by Philip Townsend.
If the 3 multicolored vinyl singles pressed in Greece in the late sixties are well known rarities, this sleeve is definitely another nugget from this country to dig for.
Its existence enables one to think that some other Greek PS were issued in the 60's, maybe even for the previous single 'I Wanna Be Your Man' [Decca GD 5040] - whom the pressing is already very scarce itself.
Estimated value : 300 €
