In July 2008, the Rolling Stones left EMI for Universal Music which then controlled their whole back catalogue.
The first 7" to see the light of the day was 'Plundered My Soul' [B0014162-21], an unreleased track from the 'Exile on Main Street' sessions [featuring vocal and guitar overdubs from Mick Taylor and Mick Jagger in 2010], released on April 17, 2010, to coincide with the 'Record Store Day'.
The single, released at the same time in both the UK and the US, peaked at #200 in the UK Top 200 Singles chart, at #2 on Billboard's Singles Sales and #42 on Billboard's Rock Songs Airplay. The US edition is numbered [8,500] and slightly different on the back from the EU version.
Two months later, marketing operations in conjonction with the Bravado Company, led to the productions of various collectors only products, only available online.
Among them was a numbered limited edition of 3000 'Tumbling Dice' 45's case box sets, including a T-shirt, belt buckle, and reissues of the original 1972 US 7" singles 'Tumbling Dice' and 'Happy', coming in new picture sleeves. The 'Tumbling Dice' PS [B0014430-21] used the rare 'cartoon' artwork, until then only available on the original Israeli and promo Spanish versions of this single, while the 'Happy'
[B0014431-21] cover was a plain version of the 70's tongue shaped company sleeve with titles added inside [as the Dutch original PS for 'Tumbling Dice'].
The 1971' 'Brown Sugar' 3-track British EP was reissued for its 40th birthday as a limited numbered edition for the 2011 'Record Store Day' [April 16], which latter event being a pretext to reissue later the 3 UK EP : the eponymous one on November 23, 2012, 'Five By Five' on April 20, 2013 and 'Got Live If You Want It!' on November 28, 2013.
Note that the infamous 'lion' PS for 'Beast Of Burden' was reissued in late 2011, only to be found within the deluxe box set of 'Some Girls' [with 2 CDs, a DVD, a hardback book, a Helmut Newton print, a 5 postcards set and a poster]. Also issued in Europe with a different catalogue number.
