From 1978 to 1984, Rolling Stones Records are pressed and distributed by EMI, which, except for 'Hang Fire' [RSR-747], follows the UK catalogue.
Picture covers were only made for 'Miss You' [RSR-11727], 'Start Me Up' [RSR-557], 'She Was Hot' [RSR-1212], and the 'Brown Sugar' reissue from 1984 [RSR-1311], these 4 singles using the well-known UK artworks [the 'She Was Hot' PS was also exported to New Zealand although the NZ number did not match!].
Records all have yellow labels, exclusive catalogue numbers, and except for the few mentioned above, come into EMI red company sleeves.
Promo copies were issued for most titles. These had a big 'A' and their release date stamped on labels until 1978, then were stamped 'Sample Recording Not For Sale - For Record Review and Demonstration Purposes' on the A-side in red on top of the usual labels.
The promo copy of 'Miss You' / 'Faraway Eyes' [RSR-11727] contains the LP versions of both tracks, as its stock copy in PS, but a stock copy distributed in company sleeve contains edited versions.
As in many other countries, a promo-only issue of 'Emotional Rescue' [RSR-287] was pressed in 1980 containing the short and long versions of the track.
In 1984, the promo copies of 'She Was Hot' and 'Brown Sugar' were distributed into their respective stock picture sleeves.
