In 1989, London / Polygram took advantage of the band's forthcoming European tour and new album 'Steel Wheels' to launch an ultimate batch of reissues with a set of 20 singles. Actually this set was available under two different packagings:
- a pink stand-up display entitled 'The Single Collection - The London Years' containing singles with blue injection moulded labels.
- a black box set with gold lettering entitled 'As The Years Go By' containing singles with silver injection moulded labels.

Picture sleeves were the same for both sets.
Artworks were revamped from originals with a classic London blue & red logo instead of the Decca one,
but the new catalogue numbers did not respect the releases dates chronology.
Also most covers were not actually reworked from their original sources but from some photographs of such originals,
sometimes not in near mint shape, which explains why some PS from this set may appear wrinkled, used or yellowish, whereas flat and new.
A simple art sleeve was improvised from the mid-60's Decca UK company sleeve
for 'Come On' [882130 7], a track that never was issued before on 7" in Germany.
Note that 'The Last Time' [882138 7] is a remix version of this track.
'Get Off Of My Cloud' [882140 7] reverts the export B-side 'I'm Free' for the original UK one 'The Singer Not The Song' there.
'Time Is On My Side' [882166 7] is the 'guitar' version.
