Germany German 7" discography [104 official releases + 189 variations]

With 5 EPs and numerous singles editions, the German discography is rich, yet the 60's were not very creative as covers used the same five patterns of sleeves over and over again - changing only catalogue number and tracklistings - until 1967.
Here again, we'll meet a few export, cross-references and promotional white labels.

The 'export' section list the 'Ex Libris' series, produced in Germany in the sixties for the Switz book club of the same name. These records were available through mail-order only at the time.

DeccaThe whole UK catalogue was reissued in 1983 with plain labels imitating the original British design; the origin of Germany as country of manufacture is clearly stated in the groove of records but since these were made for distribution in England, you will find them in the UK discography.

The Decca years [1964-1971]

The RSR / Atlantic years [1971-1977]

The RSR / EMI years [1978-1984]

The latest German 7"s were 20 singles issued as a boxed set on London in July 1989 - mostly reissues in revamped old Decca sleeves with new catalogue numbers.

From 1986 onwards, no more official 7"s were pressed in Germany - some bootlegs were though, especially in the 2000's - so please refer to the Dutch CBS production which was available up to 1992 on the German market, as well as in most other European countries.
